Every Saturday, no matter the weather, we set up our art stall at the Grassmarket market in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. From 10am-5pm, the square comes alive with people, food, creativity, and community – all in the shadow of the iconic Edinburgh Castle towering above us.
We’ve been part of this bustling market for over ten years, and it has become so much more than just a place to trade. It’s where we’ve built friendships, met visitors from all over the world, and learned how to run an outdoor market no matter what the weather throws at us!
The Grassmarket itself is steeped in history, with its cobbled streets, winding closes, and medieval buildings. Against this backdrop, the weekly market feels like a vibrant meeting point between past and present. Every stall adds its own story: the paella stand sizzling away, beautifully crafted leather goods, fragrant soaps, a sweet treat of Scottish tablet, artisan breads, and so much more. Together, we create a community of makers, each passionate about what we do.
For us, having our art stall here means more than simply displaying work. It’s about meeting folk from all over the world, hearing about their visit to Scotland and getting to work alongside other stall holders. Selling art in the bustling heart of the city and under the watchful gaze of Edinburgh Castle, we couldn't ask for a better setting!
Whether you’re a local, a first-time visitor to the city, or someone who finds themselves returning to Edinburgh year after year, the Grassmarket market is always worth a visit. You’ll discover unique handmade gifts, taste delicious food, and meet makers who love what they do.
And if you wander by our stall, do stop and say hello!
